Does AirBoot support bootable JFS?

Question if anyone can verify if AirBoot supports bootable JFS or not? I haven't used AirBoot for a while and when I try to boot eCS installed on a JFS formatted partition I get following error message:

Invalid code for JFS 0000:0000

The system boots fine if I for example used the ThinkPad F12 bios feature where I can choose what drive to boot from since eCS has been installed on UltraBay mounted disk.

It works for me on my desktop, I'm using Airboot v1.05.

I have eCom 1.2R on drive C: and eCom 2.0 on drive D(bootable JFS).  Just make sure that 1.2R does not do a CHKDSK on the JFS Bootable drive. If it does then you will have to boot using the eCom 2.0 install disk and run the CHKDSK again.

Well, I've got the 1.04 installed since this was the latest version that I could find at eComStation.ru but noticed now that Hobbes has the 1.05 version - I'll give it a try with that instead and see how it goes.

Also Kiewitz Netlab e-mail doesn't work since I tried to send him an e-mail and it bounced (if he reads this).

Installing version 1.05 did the trick to get it to boot JFS partition and when checking the history file it clearly shows also that the support was recently added in 1.05:

  • JFS with IFS partition id is now detected and is also able to boot up
  • Harddrive number is shown, when broken partition table was detected
  • I13X signature now included in MBR, LVM doesn't delete us anymore
