WPS Wizard 6.0+ and eSchemes 1.46

I successfully installed eSchemes 1.46 and WPS Wizard 6.0 on one partition. After much testing, both seemed to coexist together just fine.  All eSchemes themes worked and WPS Wizard worked as it should.  The only problem I encountered was with FM/2.  With eSchemes 1.46 installed, FM/2 crashes on startup.  This is being looked into.  eSchemes 1.46 and WPS Wizard 6.0 make an awesome combination.

Important:  To verify that WPS Wizard and eSchemes Deluxe don't coexist peacefully together, I decided to install it.  eSchemes no longer worked as it should.  I ended up having to reinstall eCS 2 rc4 after testing eSchemes Deluxe and WPS Wizard.

Haven't tried escshemes for a long time, due to to much trouble. Now I've run the 1.46 release for about 2-3 weeks, with no trouble except from initial ones, which still always seems to be there. Ok..now I also installed wpswizard 0.6 1 a3 upon that and the combination really seems to work fine.

I just tested Yuri's fixed estyer dll that was supposed to correct the problem of FM/2 crashing.  It worked.

I also set up an eCS 2 RC4 partition to run eSchemes 1.46 amd eSchemes Deluxe.

The sunnyicons in eSchemes Deluxe has come a long way, but still has a long way to go to catch WPS Wizard.

One thing I determined is that I had to apply my registration key and reboot before large icons worked.  For those not aware of it, the registration key must be placed in your <drive>:\home\default directory.

One thing I miss in eSchemes 1.46 is my MAC control button icons.  Maybe one day, I will try to create an eScheme with these buttons.

Apparently from my testing, it is impossible to create or edit an escheme at this time with 1.46 although I have no problems installing any of the already created themes.

Hi David,
it is not impossible if you do it manually (i.e. editing the scheme file with a text editor), and it is quite easy too.
I corrected the eCOToys scheme this way, because it had a few unfortunate color choices that rendered some pages unreadable.

Hi Cris

Yes I see.  I have modified the bubbles theme to use my Mac like buttons and have called it Mac-like.  I may see what else I want to modify.

To modify or create one's own schemes, take one of the already created schemes as a template.

Rename the scheme to a zip file.

example:

ren bubbles.sch bubbles.zip

Replace the bmp buttons with the ones you have created.  I deleted each bitmap one at a time and replaced with the ones I created.

Control buttons 22x22 256 color bmps

radio buttons 16x16 256 color bmps

replace any icons, sounds and ptrs with your own

Then edit the index.sch to rename your scheme to whatever you want.

example:

bubbles to MAC_like

There are two entries at the beginning of the index script that will need to be replaced.

Change any windows colors to what you want and save this file to another location.  Delete the index.sch from the zip and copy and replace it with the one you created.

I haven't really looked at the entire script, but was wondering if I could have it install a WPS Wizard theme also.  Will look at this tonight.

When through, rename you zip to the name of your new scheme.

example:

ren bubbles.zip MAC_Like.sch

That is it.  Have fun.
