Martin,

An excellent topic. Standardization is always good and welcome. I've got a couple of comments.

1) The default should be the minimal amount of information. This is because I believe there is a limit somewhere on how much information can be buffered. I know that sometimes when I turn on a lot of verbose statements from drivers I get an overflow message from the kernel about some messages being lost. I'm not sure what the limit is, but I know I've seen it before.

2) As this information is scrolling across the screen, it should take up the minimum number of lines. So I would have the 2 line info message condensed into 1.

Thanks Erik for the reply.

Other people may also think that the default should be no message if there is no error.

About 1) I had never seen the overflow message.

About 2) I made a little adjustment to the examples.

Also, I was thinking also to add some more generic options, but I'm now sure which ones should be added.

Here are ones based on DANIS and other one I don't remember.

/AA
   Audible Alerts

/!AA
   No Audible Alerts

/VP
     Verbose mode with pause.

Any suggestion is welcome.
