ASAP SAB but No, this time, I will not be towing the trailer across the bearing straights in the dead of winter with a smartfor-two, at least not yet; yes OS2 could go international someday, it would be forced to by the open source people, once it is found out the Windows was actually coded by the same guy who has all that money in Fr Guiana, just waiting to deposit some in your account soon after you make yo 10k deposit in his...
The Nitro tows IBM show pretty good but please note, for just this Fall in 08 I will be keeping the tire pressure up all round to 40psi+, just to make it clear I am in favor of lower JP4 prices...:)albeit no longer a green guy just blue!

Hey "ModZilla",

It is hoped that you will not see this as a "sales pitch" but here is just a little history to let you know how way back when I succeeded in getting a colleague to part with upwards of $480. for a certain software package; and, that amount was further divided so that my share was $150. and the reasons that I would rather promote OS/2 above all other platforms is that it will run your DOS, WINDOWS and OS/2 Applications (the software package that was sold to my colleague incidentally was a "DOS" based program  ;D ) but now that "Lotus Symphony" is for free it appears to be a good thing that business opportunities are still very much available through "services offerings" $$$; and, here is why as I have said before - "old technologies do not die"...; re:

I believe with those "Donkey Pumps" (like the ones that can be seen from the above attached link) operating in close proximity to where "the same guy who has all that money in Fr Guiana" can serve as a reminder that it is not necessarily a "Windows" only world out there. So, I would say yes; "ASAP" hurry on up and let us get that "trailer" aboard a "freighter" that is headed for Northern South America as all the "oil (black gold)", bauxite, gold, diamonds.... "Are Belong To Us"  ;D ;D ;D

How about letting "the same guy who has all that money in Fr Guiana" know that with the "drilling (soon to) begin"; re:

Let the drilling begin

It is only a matter of time before Guyana gets on the highway to prosperity.

If we take the words of President Bharrat Jagdeo for what they are worth, then sooner than later we would be riding the waves of a much better standard of living.

We refer to the President's address to the 29th congress of the PPP over the weekend at Diamond on the East Bank of Demerara, when, in a re-examination of the country's economy, he announced to the gathering of party faithfuls that we will commence oil exploration before year-end in Region Nine (Upper Takutu/ Upper Essequibo), while off-shore drilling along the Suriname border will resume next year.

These announcements are a sure sign of hope for the entire nation, but we wish to warn that we must not sit back and expect everything to be delivered to us on a silver platter. We believe that there should be no room for complacency, and further, nation building is not the sole job a single party or government, but rather calls for the involvement of all the able bodied in our society.

It is no secret that our country is blessed with an abundance of mineral resources, from manganese to bauxite, and from gold and diamonds, to oil, only to name a few. And although oil is a little late in being explored, the hunt for this vital commodity is most welcome and the entire country will wait with bated breath for the first sign of the black gold.

Embarking on such ambitious plans would serve to bring comfort to us, especially at a time when oil prices on the world market are soaring with almost each passing day. To illustrate this upward movement in oil prices on the world market, the commodity moved from as low as US$12.49 per barrel in the 1970's to a galloping US$146 per barrel currently, and there is every indication that this will rise further by the time you read this column.

We recall that because of external factors like global warming and climate change, rising food prices and shortages, the Guyana Government, with the interest of the populace at heart, made interventions from time to time to the magnitude of more than $2.8B to mitigate the effects of these world phenomena.

At the beginning of this year, when oil prices continued its upward spiral on the world market, the government reduced the excise tax on gasoline from 35 percent to 17 percent, only to further reduce the excise tax by a further 10 percent, leaving the current excise tax on gasoline at 7 percent.

At the same time, in a genuine attempt to assist farmers and manufacturers, diesel oil was zero-rated along with kerosene.

To all intent and purposes, we see the exploration of oil as a magnificent move by this government to further strengthen the economic base of our country and to further improve the lot of the Guyanese people...............

But with prudent planning and efficient management of the country's economy, the government was able to reduce the debt burden by more than 50 percent thus, paving the way for more money to be spent on social services and infrastructure.

Successful oil explorations will also bring some degree of relief to electricity and water consumers. We believe that as long as these two entities are supplied with cheaper oil, their rates to consumers will be significantly lowered, which will be good for all of us Guyanese.

We support any move by the government for the exploration of oil on Guyanese territory, which will further enhance the living standards of all the people of this country.
Let the drilling begin!

that with the possibility of "an smartfor-six" (stretch versions of the smartfor-two) substituting for "The Nitro" he may be happy to come along and undertake some "upgrade" work for us. BTW, do you know if there is an "cargo version" of the AIRBUS 380 that those UAE (dudes with the fancy head dress) may be willing to offer as a loaner to airlift the "trailer" with; but, then again is there a large enough airport in the "Fr Guiana" jungle for the over sized jumbo to land???

"Oil Money Talks" and "trailers" can get underway.  ;D

off topic a bit, :'( however IBM show is continually managing the load toward a lighter more compact payload in anticipation of greater flow/traffic et. al; through the show space in a newer longer version. So, in ot seven we went to smaller carbon footprint-storage off the rack and therefor have surplus drives and server boxes (1U instead if 4-8, as well as MadDog externals on 2.5 drives instead of clunkier IDE drives in NAS BOXES. So in our continued efforts here to scale back and recycle the entire planet if need be, offered is a version 4 mic in " virgin " cond. with original packaging, extra foam etc.

[As you are well aware a WarpMIC goes with the blue spine (full network support) version of Warp4 in 1996 as Voice Recognition Software built in that distro made for a Microphone to become part of the product offering so that the software could "read" your voice and learn so it could respond to your vocal command, whatever, I never did this, so here it is now with a free 200MB IDE 7200rpm 3.5 HDD wiped clean, by MAXTOR in orig box, no MAXTOR didnt wipe it clean I did! Maxtor is the brand of this device].

But wait! ...thats not all folks...Also in this bundle I have some CA and Sytron stuff, optional items to throw in for the lucky new owner of this premo WarpMic; h/she who may want to give it a try as I never have the time to explore/use any of these:

Sytron ProServe CX - NLM Backup for NetWare Inst. Guide and Slick CX Quick Ref. Card
Sytron ProServe CX Disk Pak with Lic. Agreement, sealed this is a demo/eval. version I think w/about 4-5 floppies [3.5] inside

...the preceeding part of this bundle goes back before they even had a corp website, so you nare do well by getting support on a forum or newsgroup for ProServe CX?

also:
CA-dBFast with sealed Computer Associates Dox and sealed floppy pak w/lic printed thereon...

CA-Ret Sealed user guide, no software!

All items clean and in v. good cond.

Make an offer as I have no idea what this is worth but will sell it so as tol save the planet as well as a trip to the county swapshop should any poster here on OS2W need these or has a collection of warpstuff to add to...

MZ

PS since I am a bit giddy today myself I'll add one more silly comment as the clock tix away in the Museum of Modern OS/2 Art for Apprentices...I have taken the idea of a 'smart for six' under advisement and have concluded that a stretch version of the smart for two is not a bad idea, assuming I have enough Acetylene left over in the tank from my last rail job project. Once I chopped and chanelled an Opera Cpe ['37 Caddy Series 61-one of six left in '63 so why not?]when i was four-teen in So.Cal- and not much sense or much of a putzer then, as I am now, I had 'visions' of winning the flathead 8 drag mod class at Irwindale Raceway when the thing was finished, since it ran stock LaSalle 3spd toppiing 70 in second gear it seemed like a viable option, the problem was the weight, like the IBM show trailer you imagine? Well, yes but it turned out to be a great street dragster...I could not afford the slicks then, do you think drag slicks appropriate for a 3 cyl car? Maybe an old XT cpe subaru pancake moter could be installed, to double the cylinder count, for more torque to tow the longer/heavier IBM show trailer that is w/o so much cheeeeese onboard ...:) 8)   do you subaruwho? If anyone owns a redbook for the WarpMic please let me know.

Hi ModZilla,

I think that you are right on the money - Again!

Re:

Quotethe Museum of Modern OS/2 Art for Apprentices...

I looked up the meaning of "museum" and got these other names - Storehouse, Foundation, Depository, Treasury, Archives, (and, lastly) Gallery; and, Bada Bling!

Quote

Come Inside And Choose A Gallery

http://www.os2bbs.com/DAVID_BARNES/

Blade Blah! And, with reference to:

QuoteIBM show is continually managing the load toward a lighter more compact payload in anticipation of greater flow/traffic et. al;

How much more lighter (and nicer; also, how much more traffic) will there not be if the LENOVO (oops) "the IBM Show" was to take a "page" from "David Barnes" with assistance from ("Pete Norloff" for making this (his) page possible).  ;)

Apprentices are known to be "Very Youthful" and "Ambitious" and it is assumed that you can trust them with the Oxy-"Acetylene" Torch to come up with "creations" that will undoubtedly adorn the "GALLERY" (the Museum of Modern OS/2 Art for Apprentices) .  ;D

As long as it has wheels, SAB, I am no longer big on S.L.E.D.S, due to all of the ice sheets "melting" with the green house gases, and the, err effects of Global conforming...someday air will become an illegal commodity traded only on the 'dark side of the moon'

please note:

Norloff's site[credited on the splash down of the "warped gallery"] is one I really used often, OUaT, way before the blog0spheres erupted when I began this virtual sojourn with antiques4geeks blog and others[OS/2world's FORUM came on the scene later for MZ] and since lost the bookmark for his site, so many thank you(s) SAB.  THX + also for the link to the esteemed Barnes WARPED GALaLERY! What Fantastic IMAGES ::) Me thinks the gallery for OS2world could use some "expansion" from the ibmshow via fluxions or perhaps from "contemporaries who found the idea of attractions across empty space unintelligible" ie the Laws of Physics in the time of Newton...rejected at first and later accepted well after his passing, which BTW, seem to have now been rejected (again)because of dark matter and the ineffable? Not selling anything in this post so its kinda off-topic, but I continue to ramble here, sorry.

VIZ. ...of many great things bestowed, upon you, your deployment of the best guess theory stems from the thoughts of Newtons theorums, ref the neighborhood of quanta, or 'corpuscles' even though his ideas have now become "warped"...and therefore once clocked at the event horizon as "velocity OS/2"..truly an unknown and a unquantifiable quantity.

Thank you too ModZilla for the creativity in bringing on the Lenovo (oops "ibm show") and if the imagination is correct I believe that the "outfit" would have easily passed through the "entrance" to the "GuySuCo Training Center" compound on its way to some eager "Oxy-Acetylene torch wielders (but notice the "machinists" also standing at the ready)

All of my O2 is already bottled ready for uploading to the AIR CAR stretch limo I am planning to build, so global catastrophes, bring em on! The new IBMSHOW Internationale Apprentice line up for OS/2 trailer should be three axles and have plenty of lighting on board for video! So as you see I plan to be on the winning side, poor MS.

Once again, "A-P-P-R-E-N-T-I-C-E-S" by nature being who they are - (and, if you command their attention long enough) by the time they disembark the "AIR CAR stretch limo" instead of us struggling with a clickity-click OS/2 we may be very well find them at the controls of a "TIME MACHINE" with a super-duper OS/3 or OS/4, or even OS/5 all ready to take us through a "TIME WARP"!  ;D ::) ;D

I actually built one myself last year. It was definitely a fun project.

The skirt material was the hardest to find and what i used slowly deteriorated.

It was great for the kids though, who were totally awestruck by it as they floated down the driveway, sitting comfortably on a carpet of air.  :D

I've been tempted to have another go, but the skirt material problem is still the issue.

You can get something better online, but the cost was a bit too rich for my blood.

Be sure and post what you come up with.

Hey Ben,

These projects all sound very exciting; but, what Operating System will they all be running on so that "MANKIND" would not experience a "terrestrial" WAR-DROBE malfunction like the one a certain part of Planet Earth is presently experiencing and where all of the procedures (sanctions, rules, protocols...) will have to be observed.  8)

Will they all come with a "64-bit Code-Base" to avoid a repeat of this (see attached link):

Quote

The Explosion of the Ariane 5

On June 4, 1996 an unmanned Ariane 5 rocket launched by the European Space Agency exploded just forty seconds after its lift-off from Kourou, French Guiana. Ariane explosion The rocket was on its first voyage, after a decade of development costing $7 billion. The destroyed rocket and its cargo were valued at $500 million. A board of inquiry investigated the causes of the explosion and in two weeks issued a report. It turned out that the cause of the failure was a software error in the inertial reference system. Specifically a 64 bit floating point number relating to the horizontal velocity of the rocket with respect to the platform was converted to a 16 bit signed integer. The number was larger than 32,767, the largest integer storeable in a 16 bit signed integer, and thus the conversion failed.....

Goofball images like IBM's in that video clip is an outer fence painted in farce to keep what's behind from becoming common knowledge.

As a pointer...

Look into IBM's relationship with I.G. Farben and, if you can find it, Edwin Black's "IBM and the Holocaust". There is much in there to help shatter one's shell, but in a simple point, the reason for the tattooed numbers on the arms of the NAZI concentration camp prisoners is because IBM put them there.

Global warming. Haha. Yeah.. that's a good one.

Want to know where the scam of Global Warming originated? Get the Club of Rome's book "The First Global Revolution", published in 1993. Then read it.

Understand first, that people are lead by fear; fear of war or the threat of it; i.e.: a Cold War. Can anyone remember if there has been one recently?

*ponders*

Ah yes! The Soviet Union and the Western world. And what happened after it ended? POOF! The Middle East exploded. One enemy evaporates and another one magically appears... how convenient.

To continue...

If people are scared of invasion they will give up rights to the government to gain an illusion of safety... rights that are never given back!.

Understand that you cannot have a global government and war too. To have a war you must have a division... i.e.: two players at least. So in order to make Global Government, (in which you will no longer have any say in your lives), they must come up with an alternate means to control the people; a substitute for a human enemy.

Now the quote, reading from page 75;

"In searching for a common enemy against whom we can unite, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill. In their totality and their interactions these phenomena do constitute a common threat which must be confronted by everyone together... the real enemy then is humanity itself."

The last line you should pay particular attention to... for it states very clearly  that YOU are the enemy. YOU are the terrorist. The only one going through any change at this point is YOU. We are hemorrhaging rights like their's no limit to them. None of the laws being passed has any affect on those who YOU believe the terrorists to be. So who do these new laws affect? They affect YOU!

Everyone heard George Bush Jr. as he said it on television. And his words were not chosen lightly and he said;

"You are either with us, (and you are not), or you are with the terrorists."

Get it?
YOU are the terrorist. It is a war of the controlling elite against the common person whom they despise. To them, the only thing preventing them from owning the world out and out, is YOU. There fore, to them, WE are the terrorists.

Now I ask you to indulge me a moment... say, just for now, that all I have typed here is undisputed and common knowledge. Now look around the world and piece together all that is happening, globally, and locally... in a state of mind that you control... completely...

Slowly, but surely, you will see the world more clearly than you have ever seen it before.

Find out who "The Club of Rome" really is, who their members are, and how it is that everything they plan comes to fruition? Then look around you and see what has happened, (and is happening), since that quote was published in 1993.

Now, let me sew this up with another quote from Daddy Bush, (George Bush Sr.) that I have quoted here once before;

"If the American people knew what we have done, they would string us up from the lamp posts."

Each person owes it to themselves, to look this up.
