Hi,

I've got an older Warp 4 machine that I've managed to forget the password on its peer setup.

Anyone know of a way to reset this easily, or am I going to have to reinstall peer  on it?

Thanks,

RobertM

Hi,

I have a tool that will create a new admin account on Server which can then be used to change passwords on other accounts, but I dont know if it works with Peer. I will dig it out and check.

It does not say... it is a "simple" REXX script that uses LSRXUT.DLL to add a new admin account. From what docs I can find, it doesn't seem to. :(

Sorry... if I find anything else, I will let you know.

Hi,

I think that's my 'Emergency Administrator Add Facility' that I wrote several years ago - or something very similar!

Yes, it should work on Peer. Try setting the 'Domain' value to either the name of the local server, or blank.

Regards,
Moby.

Hi Moby,

Indeed it is probably yours. When I ran into a similar problem with with WSeB (forgotten password), I posted my problem here and someone provided me with the file - which was probably you - but I did not have time to search the old forums to find out who...

As I'm taking your last post as permission for Fahrvenugen to (both) download and use your EAAF Tool, I'm posting a link to it here so he can download and try it... PLEASE let me know (or anyone else with Moderator or Admin rights) if I should remove the link.

Much thanks Moby - the tool was invaluable to me in my time of (memory) crisis.

Thanks!!! That did the trick!  Worked like a charm.  Just left the domain blank and it worked first try.

Thanks Robert, for putting up a link.

And Thanks Moby for writing the code.  Its a life saver (well, maybe not a life saver, but it did save me from a reinstall of all the networking stuff).

...no worries, glad it was useful.

I first wrote it when I changed the domain password where I worked last thing on a Friday.

Came in on Monday.... couldn't remember a thing!  It was either - I gotta think of something good, or its going to be real hairy with the boss when I tell him that we're locked out of 1,000 PCs!

Cheers,
Moby
