Overview

This education provides a certified instructor to train your team in how to debug problems on OS/2 Warp. Upon completion, your team will be familiar with the tools and techniques used in diagnosing problems in an OS/2 environment.

Offering Description

This is a full week of classroom education for up to 15 students from your team. The class will consist of both lecture and labs.

Students who successfully complete this course can do the following:

  • Describe the virtual storage environment of OS/2 Warp
  • Display components of a virtual storage address, and data
  • Describe why a trap occurs
  • Display code segments as mnemonic machine instructions, and understand what many of them actually do when executed
  • Describe the use of data displayed on a trap screen
  • Gather appropriate documentation necessary for diagnosis
  • Use the dump formatter and OS/2 Debug Kernel
  • Create and analyze a valid dump of a trap
  • Determine which program or routine caused the trap
