When companies initiate efforts to bring down costs by ramping production, they expect their gross margins to improve and their share prices to move upwards. Unfortunately for Taiwan notebook makers, their gross profits and share prices continue to drift down, even as they account for 70% of global notebook shipments, according to industry experts.
