Chipset maker Silicon Integrated Systems Inc. said that although a trade court had ruled that the chipset maker had infringed upon a patent held by foundry UMC, shipments to the U.S. would be unaffected.

SIS said that the International Trade Commission actually issued an injunction blocking all SIS products from sale within the U.S. However, the chipset maker said the company had tweaked its manufacturing process, allowing shipments to continue.
