Two weeks ago, TG Daily reported that USB 2.0 devices can cause excessive power consumption in notebooks. After further extensive testing, which involved Intel and Microsoft, an ACPI driver has been singled out to be the source of the unusual high power drainage observed by our engineers. Microsoft today confirmed that it is developing a new patch to fix the driver bug.
