I'm trying to document information about the ill-fated IBM OS/2 Warp (PowerPC Edition) release. I have it installed on an IBM PC Power Series 830 machine and I plan to document the installation and general usage, in an upcoming article in VOICE (assuming of course there are any more issues. Almost no one seems to have responded to Christian's plea for help in the last issue).
As part of that project I have scanned some of the material that came in the released package, including the CDs (Installation and Applications Sampler), the brief overview manual, the license and the package envelope itself. If anyone is interested in this bit of OS/2 history they can download a zip archive at: ftp://os2voice.org/OS2PPC/OS2PPCpackageScans.zip
In the same directory you can also find an IBM redbook on the OS/2 Power PC Edition: ftp://os2voice.org/OS2PPC/sg244630OS2WarpPowerPCEditionAFirstLook.pdf
as well as the announcement letter from June 19, 1995
ftp://os2voice.org/os2ppc/OS2PPCAnnounce.html . I tried making a PDF of this announcement letter which is only available as HTML from IBM's site, but OpenOffice 2.0.4 would not display the rightmost words and wouldn't wrap the lines. If anyone knows how to fix that or has a copy as a PDF I'd appreciate the help.
I'd very much like to thank Guy Sotomayor for donating a copy of IBM OS/2 Warp Connect (PowerPC Edition) and Hollis Blanchard for donating the IBM PC Power Series 830 system to the OS/2 Museum.
