Hi

This is not new, but I wanted to post something about it.

IBM has a free program called "IBM Academic Initiative", that is a program to use IBM software and course material on Universities and Schools.

The idea of this program is that teachers can have access to download IBM software and use it in class and university investigation. The teachers register to this portal, after gainning access they download the software, and can gave it to students during the period needed for investation or homework.

Here it is the Portal URL.

Checking the software available on the list there is. (Search for Warp inside the page)
  • OS/2 Warp 4 Convenience Pack V4.52(English, German, Japanese)
  • OS/2 Warp Server for e-Business Convenience Pack V4.52 (English, German, Japanese)
  • OS/2 Warp Server for e-Business V1.1 eAssembly: Convenience Pack and Software Choice International English (JDK, IBM Web Browser)
  • Lotus SmartSuite 1.7 Multilingual
  • Lotus SmartSuite 1.7 fix 3 Multilingual
  • VisualAge for Java Enterprise Edition V4.0 - Distributed Debugger for OS/2 contains the OS2 debug engine.
Only teachers can register to download them from:
https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/university/software/get_software.html

Here are also the Software Use Guidelines for the agreement.

If there is any teacher (full or part time) possible this can help to make some investigation under OS/2 or teach Operating System to your students.
