Microsoft has agreed to pay IBM US$ 775 million in damages, according to this news story:

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/050701/microsoft_ibm.html?.v=6

The damages are a result of alleged harm primarily to IBM's OS/2 and SmartSuite businesses (and consumers).

In addition, Microsoft will extend $75 million in credit for Microsoft software to IBM. (IBM must consume some Microsoft software for its own business needs.) Thus the total settlement value is $850 million.

At this writing IBM stock is trading up about 1.25% on the news.
