a) Warpstock USA: Oct 5-6, 2002 (Austin, TX)

Warpstock 2002 will be held the weekend of October 5th and 6th, at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin Texas. Austin is the home of the IBM OS/2 development group, so many of the people that work on and support OS/2 will be in attendance and giving presentations this year.

A special conference rate of $129 for single/double room night is available to those who use the "Warpstock 2002" event code when making reservations. This rate is good for up to 3 days prior and 3 days after the event weekend. The Warpstock room block is only guaranteed until September 20th though, so please don't delay. b) Warpstock Europe: Nov 8-10, 2002 (Arnhem, NL)

The major annual european OS/2 and eComStation related event in Europe this year will be held in the historical city of Arnhem in the Netherlands from November 8th-10th, 2002 at the Youth hostel Alteveer (http://warpstock.os2.org/en/location/).

Members of Dutch, German and Belgian OS/2 usergroups are working together in organizing this event, that way giving the european thought an extra impulse. You can register online at http://warpstock.os2.org/en/registration/

c) IBM Training for Connectix Virtual PC in Munich (Nov 4-6) & Chicago (Nov 13-15)

IBM Education and Training Group offers a special 3-day seminar on the "Connectix Virtual PC" product line, covering the platforms OS/2 and Windows One class is planned for Germany (November 4-16, IBM Munich) and one for the US (November 13-15, IBM Chicago, IL). The fee for this class is 2200,- EURO.

d) Device Driver Fixpak 3 is available via Software Choice

As of FixPak 41 for Warp 3 and FixPak 11 for Warp 4, device drivers have been removed from the Base FixPak's. They now are in XR_D0xx series of FixPak's, and can be applied to any language FixPak. The order of applying the FixPak's, base or device driver doesn't matter.

e) Servolution Logon Client Version 3.0 and SyncPacket 1.0

Servolution Logon Client Version 3.0 and SyncPacket 1.0 are now available for download.

New features include: support for OpenLDAP, Netscape, RACF, Encryption with SSL, LDAP and automatic OS/2 Logon.
Sync Agent supports automatic syncronisation of users with Windows (ADS), LINUX, UNIX.

f) Scitech SNAP 2.0 available

Scitech SNAP Graphics 2.0 for OS/2 and eCS has been released.
Changes include
- DUAL-HEAD support (Matrox only)
- ZOOM support (on selected ATI, Matrox, Nvidia, Intel, and S3 graphics cards)
- Custom Modes, including 16:9 modes
- AGP Fastwrite support

g) PrinterPak Level 30.771 released

The english versions of the printerpak (omni, laserjet, postscript) have been updated to level 30.771

h) OS/2 LAN API Toolkit relocated

OS/2 LAN APIs were incorporated into the OS/2 Toolkit before they were removed from the LAN part of the product. The LAN headers and library files are included in the OS/2 Toolkit that's on the Convenience Pak Installation CD (for both version 1 and 2). They are available under the category Headers and Libraries. The header files are in the subcategory IBM Peer Services Headers, and the library files are included in the Libraries subcategory. The library files are the net*.lib and the upm*.lib files.
They are not separated out from the base libraries now.

i) 4OS2, Take Command/OS2, and Take Command/16 free download

4OS2, Take Command/OS2, and Take Command/16 will no longer be sold. However, they will be available for download as free but unsupported products.
