a) OS/2 Warp Convenience Package 2 Version 4.52 FixPak 1 (XR_F001) available
The first FixPak for CP 2 is available via SoftwareChoice.
Attention: This FixPak includes important fixes for Intel Pentium 4 Systems with more than 512 MB of RAM and for systems dumping on large IDE drives (using LBA).
In order to install CP 2 on a Pentium 4 system with more than 512 MB of RAM, you need to apply the corresponding fix (p4fix.zip) to your installation media before installation.
We recommend using updated boot diskettes instead of burning an updated installation CD-ROM unless you are very familiar with bootable OS/2 CD-ROMs.
Get the FixPak from
xr_f001 (english version)
xrgf001 (german version)

b) IBM ThinkPad T30 with OS/2 support announced
This is an excerpt from here
---
The following operating systems support the ThinkPad T30 computer:
-OS/2 Warp Convenience Package 2 Version 4.52 with FixPak XR_F001 or later (Note 1)
-OS/2 Warp Convenience Package 1 Version 4.51 with FixPak XR_C002 or later
-OS/2 Warp 4.0 with FixPak XR_M016 or later and Device Driver FixPak XR_D002 or later
OS/2 Warp V4.0 Limitations:
-For OS/2 operating system, the standby and hibernation power management functions are not supported.
-OS/2 users should not enter suspend/hibernation mode with an Ethernet or token-ring card installed.
***Sidenote:
In contrast to the limitations stated above, suspending a ThinkPad does work well in the following scenarios:
- Use e100b.os2 (Intel(R) PRO PCI Driver) v4.35 or later for the built in MiniPCI Ethernet card. This driver will be released on DDPak as soon as testing has been finished successfully.
- Use ibmtokcs.os2 (unmodified from Convenience Pak) for IBM Turbo 16/4 PCMCIA Token Ring adapters.
An overview of updated drivers needed to run OS/2 on a T30 can be found at www7.software.ibm.com
and www.pc.ibm.com
The video driver available for download there is Scitech Display Doctor 7.09-RC6.

g) VirtualPC TTT class coming
We are currently working on sheduling a 3-day "teach-the-teacher" class on VirtualPC, both the OS/2 and the Windows version. This class we cover all insights, tuning, optimizations, enabling / disabling features, working with additions, dealing with the Virtual switch and so on. Primarily this class will be for IBM internals (ITS projects and support) and Business Partners, both with current need in customer projects. Everybody else will be put on standby and be confirmed on short notice, if space permits. Shedule currently includes a class in Europe (Germany, area of Cologne) and USA (most likely Atlanta).
