c) Virtual PC for OS/2 is GA
Virtual PC for OS/2 is generally available since April 02, 2002.
This is also true for the OS/2 Additions for Virtual PC for Windows.
The Virtual PC Software from Connectix and InnoTek provides 2 solutions:
1st, Virtual PC for OS/2 is a very flexible, though convenient way to integrate 32Bit Microsoft Windows Applications into your OS/2 environment.
OS/2 now can run any PC operating system (Guest OS) within OS/2 as a "host" OS.
This enables all OS/2 users to run Win32 applications as well as linux applications on their OS/2 desktop, even in an isolated environment (like mobile workers running OS/2 on their ThinkPad).
2nd, Virtual PC for Windows with OS/2 Additions enables Windows clients to run OS/2 as a guest OS, thus enabling any Windows client to run OS/2 applications as well.
For details, see http://www.innotek.de/products/virtualpc
Enterprise support for both solutions is available through IBM Enterprise Warp & Workspace Services (

d) New Epson Drivers coming around
We have been asked by Epson what some of the Customer requirements are to justify them supporting the Epson Photo 820 under OS/2, like:
- What kind of customer is requesting the high resolution printing?
- How many Epson Photo 820 units are involved here (current and future)?
- Why do they need 2880 DPI printing?
- Which applications are they using?
Anything you can provide as requirements will help our case.
Thanks for your help.
FYI: We are already requesting EPOMNI5 and as soon as we get it, we will publish it on DDPak Online (
