Brian Havard has updated his port of Ogg Vorbis to version 1.0rc2. Ogg Vorbis is an audio compression format similar to MP3 using variable bit rates but free of patented algorithms and fully open source. Quality is at least as high as that of similar MP3s.

The new version features more flexible encoding modes, channel coupling, lower bitrate support, and much more.

The package contains:

- oggenc: compresses WAV files into OGG format
- oggplay: Simple command line player
- ogg123: A more fully featured command line player
- OggPlay.dll: A plug-in for PM123, originally written by Sofiya
