Somebody who has looked in comp.os.os2.advocacy recently can find a thread about hobbes.
The incoming directory on hobbes was growing fast. It had not been cleaned up for about 3 months. The email adress also did nor work on the website. (emails bounched back).
I gave New Mexico State University a call. And told them the whole story. The where already planning to upgrade the server and this has happened:

(July 19, 2001) After months of neglect, you'll be happy to know that Hobbes is back in business. We've upgraded Hobbes to a slightly faster machine with four times the memory.
/pub/incoming will be maintained on a regular basis, we appreciate all the interest.

The person who maintance hobbes was abroad and before he left it was planned he would maintain hobbes. However it turns out that for some reason he did not have internet access...

I anybody from NMSU reads this. I think on behalf of the whole OS/2 community, I can say, thanks for this wonderfull service you run!

Note: Hobbes is the main repository of freeware, shareware and demos inside the OS/2 Community.
