Here some information from the CD magic page:

Since Mar.1, 2001 the CDDB-server, which supplied the track data for the CD (title, artist etc.) has withdrawn the access authority for the CDMagic program.

Instead of the expected track-data you get the message "CD not found on this server". We have sent a request to the webmaster at CDDB, and received an explanation as follows:

The access protocol for the cd-database has changed. Which was formerly an open http-based protocol that could be programmed in any language (on any operating system) is now imbedded in a proprietary program module, i.e. a Windows-DLL.

They have ported this DLL to a Unix-lib but they refuse to do a port to OS/2. And - what is worse - they refuse to keep the old access protocol still open. This is the result of several requests and inquiries to the people at us.cddb.com, but they remain unimpressed. They don't want us OS/2-users. Everybody is invited to tell the people at Gracenote (owners of us.cddb.com) his point of view: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. So all we can do is change our CDDB-URL to one of the free CDDB-servers, e.g. WWW.FREEDB.ORG. This server has quite a good supply of CD-titles and gets better every day (you can configure CDMagic to any server that you like). So don't spend even a thought on the people at us.cddb.com. Long live WWW.FREEDB.ORG!
