The official release of XFree86 contained a serious bug that caused much of the text to be unreadable on video cards that used the ATI Rage128 chipset, including all the latest ATI video cards. This problem effected OS/2 as well as other operating systems.

A source code patch was released and I applied the patch and recompiled the OS/2 version of the SVGA XServer, the XServer that works with the Rage 128.
