Brutus is the name of my software project to catalog my collections of recordings and other similar stuff.

I am about ready to release this program, which is written in Java. If any of you would like to try it out, I would be very interested in any comments or suggestions you might like to make.

I originally started out to catalog my collection of MP3 files on my hard drive, but I also wanted to catalog the CDs in my Sony CD player which has a 200 CD carousel. I have since added a few other things to catalog. It now catalogs 6 different entities: Albums, Books, Movies, Operas, Scores and Software.

The only thing left to do before the first release is to write the help files and have them translated... Oh, yes, did I forget to mention that it supports four different languages: German, English, Spanish and Italian. When the database is first initialized, it loads the English into the database, but this can be easily changed once the app is running by clicking on the Options menu -> Languages -> xxxxx (where xxxxx is the language of your choice). However, if anyone would be interested in trying it out without the help system in place, you can download it from my website:

http://www.casaerwin.com

The site is in Spanish, but on the second (last) row of images, third from the left, second from the right, there is an image of BRUTUS SOFTWARE. Click on this image and you will be taken to the Brutus page. Click on DESCARGAR to download the zip file. If you click on the next line down " Instrucciones -- por ahora solo en inglÚs " you will see the instructions which for now are only in English. These instructions are very basic, and for now are the only help available... except you can always ask me.
