"ACPI (short for "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface") is a standard that defines power and configuration management interfaces between an operating system and Hardware. It is meant to supersede the older APM standard (for power management) and provide a generic interface for recognition and configuration of hardware devices."

  ACPI Tools homepage -- http://ecomstation.ru/acpitools
There is FAQ, readme here: http://ecomstation.ru/projects/acpitools/?action=faq

Available to those with access to the Downloads area (not the BetaZone) via Software Subscription Services: ( via logging in at http://www.mensys.nl/indexuk.html )  there is a test version of ACPI 3.16
under the  downloads listing.  Look for the file named: /ACPI/ACPI316-05_29.ZIP

There is also a new utility in that directory called acpistat.exe which only works with this new build of ACPI.  This just appears to list IRQs in use and some information about the CPUs.

So if you have a non-production system that requires/works with ACPI, and you are interested in testing this version (make sure you backup your existing files or have a complete system backup first) copy/paste the form at http://ecomstation.ru/projects/acpitools/download/acpi-db-form.txt into
http://ecomstation.ru/support.php and fill in the information.  Keep in mind the last time I passed on information about a new ACPI build it was withdrawn.
