DrWeb/2 developers are using eComStation as development platform.
Doctor Web for OS/2 is a version of the popular antivirus scanner,
Doctor Web, designed to run under the OS/2 operating system. Doctor Web
for OS/2 is a member of the 32-bit family of antivirus scanners briefly
referred to as DrWeb32. All 32-bit Doctor Web scanners (for DOS/386,
Novell
NetWare and OS/2) has modular architecture and include the following components:
* kernel
* virus database
* shell
The Kernel is an executable code that implements various algorithms
for virus detection and removal. The Virus database is an separate file
(or files) that contains virus signatures and precompiled description
of rules for virus detection and removal.
The Shell is an implementation of the user interface that is specific
for each operating environment. This architecture enables all 32-bit
Doctor Web versions to use the same kernel and virus databases.
The shell of Doctor Web for OS/2 provides a simple command-line
interface typical for batch processing. However, the version for OS/2
and versions with graphical interface offer absolutely similar
functionality.
