Samba client versions
1.5.2 and 1.6 beta 1 have been released (7/6/2010), based on Samba
3.0.37 and 3.3.13, respectively. This is a plugin for the NetDrive
Filesystem (or EVFS), which allows you to mount SMB or CIFS shares on
OS/2 without the need of NetBIOS (IBM LAN Manager or IBM Peer). Also
updated (7/7/2010) are the Samba client utilities, to version 1.1.0,
also based on Samba version 3.3.13.
The Samba server version
3.0.37 (labeled version 1.0.5) has been ported (7/6/2010) to OS/2. Also
available (3/21/2010) is version 3.3.12 (labeled version 1.1 RC2).
This allows you to share your files without the need of NetBIOS (IBM LAN
Manager or IBM Peer).
