Flemming Bregnvig, contacted via Bent Nielsen - Thanks Bent ! -, accepted to give me the source of his cool Bandit Tagger. Since I don't really know what to do with C++ code, I chose to place it on Hobbes for any developper who would like to take it over.
For those of you who might wonder, here's the description of Bandit Tagger :
½ Bandit Tagger is a tool to add taglines to your outgoing mail, and newsgroups posts.
The taglines can be selected randomly or manually.
It also enables you to change the X-Mailer & X-Newsreader line in the header section. ?
The program consists in a "daemon", some REXX scripts and a set of files containing tag lines. You just have to add a special line in your sig file and to specify the CMD script to be launched when a message is sent (PMMail: "Account" "Settings" "Rexx" "Message Send Exit").
The archive contains the version 2.02 and 2.03 (never released to the public AFAIK) of BandIt Tagger, its C++ sources, the key generator to register your copy of Bandit Tagger and some generated keys for the early supporters of Bandit.
The author asked me to be informed if a developper ever decides to pick this project up.
This program is released "as is".
Bandit Tagger can be found on Hobbes.
