"bitwiseworks announces the general availability of a new version of Samba Server for OS/2 based systems.
What's new compared to the last release?
All components were heavily updated.
Unlike all interim builds of various 3.5.x and 3.6.x revisions we consider this build to be stable.
- Server core based on Samba 3.6.25 instead of 3.3.14
- faster (170% faster than previous 3.3 releases)
- first implemenation of SMB2 protocol on OS/2
- Samba Server Control Center (SSCC) updated to 1.1.0 instead of 1.0.3
- ability to directly start and stop the server
- ability to install required packages via RPM/YUM
