As users of OS/2-eComStation since 1990 and OS/2 2.0, and as a (final?) gift to a platform and a community which have been integral to my firm's history for the past 15 years, we really went the extra mile to ensure as much compatibility as possible with eCS, both on the client *and* on the server side.
This has not been overly hard, as Knomos is based on MySQL, Apache, PHP, Java, Firefox and OpenOffice.org (and each of those ingredients can even be replaced, with varying degrees of difficulty).
Of course, we have no idea of how many potential users of Knomos are around who may still be interested, but we trust the release of Knomos to be a serious contribution to the continued viability of eCS as a client and/or server platform in the abovementioned environments; and accordingly thought the news to be of potential interest to this list.
Please note that Knomos being an Open Source product, all requests for support should be addressed to a professionally-qualified, commercial service provider, or to other users in the public forums made available by Sourceforge, and *not* to my firm.
