The Mono project is the opensource implementation of the Microsoft .Net platform (the "Counter-Java"), which is very important and powerful development framework for web and desktop applications - becoming the MS platform of the future.

With the opensource Mono project this technology is available on many "non-MS" systems, and I think it should be available on OS/2 too, because future Windows applications require this, the "mono/2" runtime would be the new environment for them - playing a role similar to ODIN!
